Adapted from Nigel Balchins novel 'A Way Through the Wood', Julian Fellowes directorial debut revolves around upper middle class barrister James Manning (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife Anne (Emily Watson). James and Annes wealth affords them lifes finest luxury accoutrements, including residences in both London and the country, expensive cars, and servants. However, restlessness simmers underneath this apparently cheery, perfect veneer.
